Infrastructure DevOps Engineer (all gender) | onsite Munich

Festanstellung, Vollzeit · Munich

WHO WE ARE
SECLOUS is a hotbed of innovation for the secure handling of our data. We create novel capabilities that massively simplify the security of digital solutions, while providing greater protection and, above all, control.
We believe that we need fewer security products, but many more secure products - and we offer third parties the necessary technical solutions to implement this without much effort.

Our goal is to ensure the necessary digital sovereignty and resilience of German and European products. In recent years, we have been rewarded for this with numerous innovation awards and have been continuously listed among the most innovative German companies in the field of cyber security since 2022.

Our solutions therefore focus on people rather than technology - because we believe in the right mix of technical expertise and interpersonal skills. In our appreciative work culture, everyone can make an authentic contribution and continue to develop.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
By focusing on modern, small-scale best practices—IaC, GitOps, automated backups, and lean Kubernetes—you’ll help us build a solid, maintainable foundation that lets our team move quickly and reliably.

Own & Improve Our InfrastructureYou’ll maintain approximately 10–20 Linux and Windows servers – handling OS upgrades, patching, and security hardening. You ensure that all VMs stay healthy, up to date, and properly backed up.

Automate with IaC: Using Terraform and Ansible, you’ll build and maintain infrastructure that is reliable and reproducible. All infrastructure changes follow GitOps best practices via Git merge requests and code reviews.

Deploy & Manage Kubernetes:
You’ll set up a small on-prem Kubernetes cluster and manage Helm charts or manifests. Cluster upgrades, backups (e.g. Velero), and basic disaster recovery tests will be automated by you.

Enhance CI/CD Pipelines:
You’ll extend existing GitLab CI/CD pipelines to deploy services to VMs and Kubernetes with minimal manual intervention. You’ll also integrate essential checks like linting and security scans into the pipelines.

Implement Backup & DR Drills: You’ll configure consistent backups for both servers and Kubernetes workloads, plan and validate restore processes, and document everything clearly in structured runbooks.

Monitor & Alert:
You’ll set up lightweight monitoring dashboards and alerts to track server health, application availability, and backup success. Alerts will be fine-tuned to avoid noise and ensure fast, actionable responses.

Enable & Document: As the go-to person for infrastructure questions, you’ll support developers with deployments and troubleshooting. You’ll also create and maintain concise, up-to-date documentation – including provisioning steps, troubleshooting guides, and runbooks.
YOUR PROFILE
You should bring most of the following with you:

Systems & Server Administration
  • Strong Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian) and Windows Server 2022 experience
  • Comfortable managing on-premises servers and Cloud VMs
Infrastructure as Code & GitOps
  • Hands-on with Terraform and Ansible for provisioning and configuration

Container Orchestration

  • Experience writing Helm charts or simple manifests
CI/CD & Deployment
  • Solid GitLab CI/CD skills: building pipelines that deploy apps to VMs and Kubernetes

  • Regular patching and vulnerability management on Linux/Windows
  • Basic hardening practices (firewall rules, SSH key management)

No "must have", but nice and helpful:
  • Prior small-scale Kubernetes cluster setup and maintenance
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent)
  • Exposure to service provisioning in a hybrid on-prem/cloud context
  • Experience with Helm chart testing or GitOps operators (Argo CD/Flux)
YOU WILL BE A PERFECT FIT IF...
  • You bring commitment and passion for innovative technology and continuous learning
  • You are conscientious and have high quality standards
